Why KOR?
KOR stands for Keepers of the Republic — a name inspired by Benjamin Franklin's famous warning at the close of the Constitutional Convention: "A republic, if you can keep it."
Franklin's warning recognized that self-government is never automatic. A republic can erode through corruption, factionalism, public ignorance, demagoguery, institutional decay, apathy, and the steady exchange of liberty for security, comfort, or political favor.
A republic is not self-executing. It has to be kept.
KOR Action exists to support the organizations and initiatives working to preserve constitutional self-government with discipline, strategy, and resolve.
Historical note: The phrase is traditionally attributed to Franklin through James McHenry's journal account of the exchange with Elizabeth Willing Powel.
